Regulations Governing the Young Investigator Awards and Young Investigator Prize
Applicants must be less than 40 years of age. Submit an abstract and register using the standard forms for the meeting. Ensure you are the first/presenter of the abstract. Include a letter formally applying to be considered for a bursary and countersigned by your head of department indicating your eligibility status as PhD/MD student, trainee, etc. Ensure you are a member of ETRS or WHS (if not, join immediately !). All abstracts submitted using the above procedure will be judged by the Scientific Program Committee and the best (at least 3) awarded a bursary. This bursary will consist of free registration for the 2009 Limoges meeting and a cheque for 400 Euros towards the cost of travel/accomodation for that meeting. You must attend and present your work at a special oral Young Investigator Session.
In addition to the successfull recipients of the bursaries, other applicants judged suitable will be included in the special Young Investigator Session where a further prize of 500 Euros will be awarded for the best presentation. The prize of 500 Euros can be awarded in addition to a bursary award if one of the bursary presentations is judged to be the best in the special session.
All bursary and prize cheque will be presented by a leading researcher at the closing session of the meeting ; so, plan to attend the entire meeting.
Regulations Governing the Best Poster Prizes
All ETRS or WHS members are eligible. Submit an abstract, register for the meeting and present your poster in the alloted session as per the standard meeting format. During the formal poster sessions, judges will view the poster, talk to presenters, etc. They will produce a list of what they consider to be overall best poster presentations. There are no prescribed categories or special procedures. The winners (at least 3) will be announced and receive a cheque of 500 Euros each presented at the closing session of the meeting ; so, plan to attend the entire meeting.
